    Hi guys,

this here is my last hope, so I registered a domain through godaddy.com and I created a blog on wordpress.com. I pointed my domain towards the wordrpess.com servers therefore my registered domain URL was pointing to my blog.

I then went ahead and created a full site locally, transferred all of the applicable files and database to my new host (hostgator).

My issue is, I have gone back to godaddy and re-pointed the domain towards my new host but for some reason when I visit the URL it leads me back to the damn wordpress blog. I have cleared the cache on all my browsers and they all pull up the wordpress blog except for my galaxy nexus (phone browser) which pulls up the correct site. I just changed this last night so I figured maybe I just need to wait?

well today it actually pulled up the correct site but only a couple of times then it began diverting back to the blog again! What’s this issue???? Is this something I should be talking to goddaddy about????? Please help

  • If just changed name servers last night it takes time for all networks to propagate normally day or two

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours.

Give it some more time or call Godaddy. Their phone support is very helpful and at least they can verify you did it correctly.

hey that was fast :). I understand, but tell me why does it work on my phone and why did it work a couple of times and all of a sudden stop working on my regular desktop browsers? is that normal? I honestly don’t know.

DNS will fluctuate until it settles. One minute you might be looking at your new site, refresh and you will be looking at your old site.

Just need to give it time to settle.

That gives me relief lol. The reason is because the guys at hostgator seemed duped by this so it wasn’t very comforting :). Okay I will take your advice and wait it out a couple days. Thanks friend.
