• Dear WP Forumers,

I am trying to transfer https://www.creasedpixels.com/studio906 onto https://www.studio906.net

Studio906.net is presently hosted by (I will try to explain to the best of my limited technical-term knowledge) a hosting party who uses a number of folders at root level of the URL in order to store “mail” / “public html” etc….

I’m not sure how to transfer my WP blog onto that domain without deleting everything and starting again…

The CPanel has Fantastico, which I’ve used to install WP just now – however, I can’t see any installed WP folder anywhere at root level….

any headsup or pointers would be gratefully appreciated.

    Cheers in advance

thanks Rahul – all that I’m okay with…. it’s the “independent hoster” who’s entire system is at root level that I can’t deal with….

I go to his root and I see a lot of folders…. I can’t see any WP install that I’ve already instructed Fantastico to install…. I go back to Fantastico and it says that it’s already installed WP at root level of this domain…. but I can’t see it anywhere + I have a lot of other folders that, if I touch, could screw up email accounts etc….

I hope you understand my rather vague attempts at explaining the situation…

    Cheers again

the files generally are in public_html folder..

Thanks, again, for your very speedy response Rahul ??

I’d just found everything in the Public folder when your message popped in – but now I’m a little concerned about deleting everything else in there… should I? (of course, having backed it all up, first)….

If I delete everything that isn’t anything to do with WP then when I reload the URL will it be running as it should?

Thanks – once more – for your kind and attentive support

    You are welcome!
Not everything.. only wordpress files.. ??

all wordpress and folders start with wp_. except these:

    index.php
    readme.html
    license.txt
    xmlrpc.php
    and .htaccess files.

    Everything else is not wordpress..
