• Hi,

I’m having trouble transferring my wordpress.com account to www.ads-software.com account which will be hosted by hostgator.

I used the “quickinstall” feature on hostgator cPanel and received a new username and password for wordpress. I can log into my new account www.ads-software.com and my website (theinvestingoracle.com) changes to a default template. I then change my automatically generated password. My forum reading leads me to believe that I’m correct up to this point.

However, once I try to transfer my content via the wordpress .xml file importer. I get logged out and my site goes back to being at wordpress.com. What I mean, is my site content goes back up, I’m no longer on the default template, etc. Then I get logged out automatically of my new www.ads-software.com account and I get redirected to this: https://theinvestingoracle.wordpress.com/wp-login.php

My new www.ads-software.com account information doesn’t usually work for about 20 minutes to an hour. Then I’m able to log back in and I go back to the same default template.

I don’t think its my nameservers as I changed it yesterday and it is pointing to hostgator. (I think)

Can someone help me understand what I’m doing wrong?

    Thank you.

To update, I get automatically logged out of my new www.ads-software.com account every five minutes or so and then it try’s to make me sign on to a wordpress.com account.

Are you trying to use the same domain name on both sites?

One thing I would check is your “siteurl” in your database for your hostgator account.

    • Log into your cPanel
    • Go to phpmyadmin
    • Click the wordpress database on the left side
    • Go to wp_options tables
    • Click the Browse tab at the top</li
    • Look for an option_name siteurl. Should be the first record
    • Is the option_value theinvestingoracle.com?

If not, then change the value to theinvestingoracle.com.
