    Hi there,

I have been blogging for several years (with the Yoast SEO plugin) and now I have started a new multilingual website (with the Polylang plugin) and run into a few issues with regards to the readability analysis.

The blog main language is EN, but this article is written in NL, and the language of the article is obviously also set to NL (Dutch). However, I keep getting:

    • the ‘error’ that my article doesn’t contain any transition words (while there are a lot, already checked here: https://yoast.com/help/transition-words-in-your-language/#dutch
    • the ‘error’ that my article scores very low in the Flesch Reading Ease test, which is quite unusual since I normally score very high.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be here?

  • Hi,

Yoast is not fully compatible with Polylang. We have an open issue related to seeking how compatibility can be improved. We suggest signing up for our newsletter as that is where we will announce product changes and updates. You may sign-up for it here https://yoast.com/ by scrolling towards the bottom to complete the sign-up field.

In the meantime, ?the only workaround is to switch the site’s language to what is needed and then resolve those Yoast notifications. You can go to Users-Your Profile to switch to the needed language. Then switch back to the primary language after resolving the notificaions. Note that switching a site’s language in Polylang will change the language on the front-end. So your users and Google may see it in a different language briefly.
