Transitioning from Localhost to Godaddy

Hi,

I ham wondering what steps it is important to take when making you wordpress site live from localhost to a seperate host server like Godaddy.

I changed the file permissions of the .htaccess from 777 to 644 to enable permalinks. Do I need to change this back?

Is there anything else specific that would be a really good idea to check before making going live?

What is a good checklist of important things to remember to do when transitioning from localhost to a live web server?
