Please help me, how can I translate this one word ‘Free’ on the checkout page:
    SK Packeta pickup points: Free

I tried with Loco Translate but couldn’t find the word ‘Free’.

    Thank you!

    Hello,
    thank you for your question.

First off, I? like to ask into which language do you need to translate the word “Free”? Our plugin is translated into EN, CZ, and SK, so for these languages the word should be translated automatically.

Also, the “Free” message is a normal part of our plugin’s translation files, so the Loco Translate plugin should be able to see and change it as usual. Although we don’t have direct experience with this plugin, I have installed it on my test shop, tested it and it seems to work.

You just need to create the translation within the “System” location, and then I can see and edit the translation for the “Free” item. Have you tried doing the translation in this way or differently?

    Best regards,

Thank you Matyá? for your reply and testing!

I’m trying to translate it to hungarian, but on my side it doesn’t want to work. I do everything like you say, but there is no ‘Free’ string among others.

Here are the screenshots I’ve made:

    Hello Matyá?!

I wanted to let you know that I’ve managed to translate the word ‘Free’!
The solution was not to start a new translation with Loco Translate, but to download (Export on the botton of the page) the empty language file (wp-plugins-packeta-stable-hu.po) from this location, rename it to the name Loco Translate created previously but didn’t work (packeta-hu_HU.po) and copy it under 0:/…/wp-content/plugins/packeta/languages/ This way the word ‘Free’ appeared finally, so I was able to translate it.

    Hello,
    thank you for the info.

I took a second look at the current language files, and it seems that in the current release version (1.6.4), the “Free” word is missing in the general plugin .pot file (although it is present in the translations that are done).

This is the file from which Loco Translate creates new translation files, so since it is missing there, it was also missing in the generated translation. This will be fixed in the next plugin version, so from the next version onwards, the process you did should no longer be necessary when creating your own translation.

    Best regards,
    Matyá? Kova?

PS: Since translations in WordPress are comunnity managed, if you’d like, you can contribute to them on the URL you got the files from and if the community translators for your language approve it, it will become a part of the official plugin translations.
