• Hi

I want to be able to translate the custom opt-in heading, content and success message using WPML.

When I import the localisation strings into WPML, I can see the string for the placeholder texts.

I translated them using the WPML interface but nothing worked, I will raise this on the WPML forum see if they can find a workaround, perhaps they could work with you guys to make this easier.

Funny thing is, there was no problem using the WPML interface to translate the sign up strings.

I not only used the WPML interface but I also created a seperate hustle-Zh_cn.po file, but when I change to Chinese via WMPL language switcher, still nothing happens. I will explore whether I need to add Chinese as an admin/wordpress installation language to get those translations to work, but I don’t see why that would make a difference, like I say, the sign up string translates perfectly well.

For now I will remove all optin text and use my own translatable strings for the optin message in a content template, and just use the tick graphic for a success message.

    Hello @deftly,

I’m afraid that compatibility with WPML is something that is not yet ready for Hustle.
But this is on the road map of the plugin and hopefully we will be able to translate popups and email opt-ins with WPML really soon.

    kind regards,
    Kasia

How do we translate the placeholders then?

@ramzii Sorry for the delayed response. Everything you need for translating Hustle should be available using the .po file.

    Hi @jdailey,

I created the .po and .mo files for fr_CA, but how do I tell the plugin that it should take those into account and not the en_US?

    Thanks!

    Hello.
You should review the Glossary for French Canada first: https://translate.www.ads-software.com/locale/fr-ca/default/glossary

    Thank you.
    Mia

    Hey @unpointcinq,

Your WordPress install will look for whichever language you have your WP install set to via:

    Settings > General.

So assuming your site language is set to French Canada there then just make sure your Hustle fr_CA.mo file is added in your /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder

If that folder doesn’t exist then you can create it yourself ??

Make sure the name of the .mo file is hustle-fr_CA.mo – that will ensure it’s associated with Hustle and WordPress recognizes it.

Hope that helps! If you have further trouble with that just let us know. Cheers
