Translate menu_name and other fields of a custom post type

  • A custom post type has been added.
    The menu_name field of it should now be translated (using Polylang),
    so that its archive page/titles/etc are translated, too.

    Can Polylang be used for this or is it necessary to use the WordPress i18n methods like __() when registering the custom post type?

    Hello,

    Using __() and Loco Translate for teh translation is a good solution.
    Otherwise you can use pll__(), but you’ll need to separately register the string in the translation table with pll_register_string().
