Translate popup

Yes, it’s possible, the popup uses the WordPress locale setting. So the language is based on the language of the WordPress install.

I thought I’d chime in here as well, @ionutcalara.

I too find that the payment popup does not translate. In my case WordPress is set to Norwegian (nb_NO or nn_NO). Is it not supported? Paylike defaults to English, but if I try Danish it translates as it should.

Hi @lykkelig, while this is related to WordPress I need to clarify this problem with the main developers at Paylike.

The popup has support for Norwegian as far as I know, but I need to confirm this, so I will get back to you as soon as I get an answer.

If this is urgent, here’s a sample of the Norwegian translation I found, and if this is what you are looking for then it will be supported in the plugin by the end of the week.

I’m mainly thinking about the labels for Card Number, Expiry Month/Year and Pay-button, but if error and help messages are translated as well that’s perfect.

I did speak with Paylike support a while back about the issue; Norwegian was supposed to be supported and is listed on the website. I was told I could test Paylike languages here, as the demo language is based on browser settings or the Paylike site language. Not even that works for Norwegian as far as I can tell (same for Swedish). Maybe the language identifier from Paylike is wrong?

Hi @lykkelig after discussing this it seems the cause is the fact that Norwegian has an official variant of no_NO according to some standards. Since that doesn’t exist in WordPress, it will not directly map to Norwegian Bokmal.

However, until we sort this out properly, I made a hotfix for you, so you can use Bokmal in WordPress and get the no_NO translation in the popup.

Just install the latest update 1.7.7 and add this to wp-config.php

define( 'PAYLIKE_NORWEGIAN_BOKMAL_COMPATIBILITY', true );

Please note that this only works with Norwegian Bokmal.

Thank you for checking this @ionutcalara! Then it all makes sense. Hopefully it won’t be too much trouble to add the correct nb_NO for Norwegian Bokm?l support.

In the meantime your fix works without problems! I appreciate your help and swift response! And sorry for hijacking the thread – this could probably have had its own.
