This plugin finds it difficult to detect and change strings on the log-in and also plugin created pages like: buddypress pages – it doesn’t detect the strings on pages.

I wonder what the floater language icon is used for ..

Wouldn’t it be reasonable if only site-admin or site-translator could see that floating button and it’s purpose would be for translating that particular page ? Regardless of what plugin the page is associated to ?

    Hi,

TranslatePress does not create new posts for the translated versions of the original post. But the translated versions will have separate URLs. That means every page has a separate URL for each language no matter if that page is translated or not.

If a string isn’t selectable with the pencil tool, you can search for it using the list of strings, https://translatepress.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/meta_information.png, available for translation from the Translation Editor, https://translatepress.com/docs/translation-editor/.

About seeing the floating language, you can exclude pages from translation if you want, and keep them just in the default language, using the Do not translate certain paths function from TP Settings –> Advanced tab.

    * i have tried out the list of strings .. It doesn’t show that particular string ..i had to use a different plugin to fix the issue.

-This is the best translation plugin but I just wish translatepress would be able to change every text(no matter what) with the pencil tool from the frontend easily – just so i wouldn’t need any other text changing or translating plugin

We are working to bring a similar feature to Loco Translate that will allow you to see all detected strings/gettext into a list and translate them. However, we don’t have a timeframe for it.
