Translate theme – best practice?

Update on my translation issue. I translated the theme (using Poedit). It worked great, and looked fine on the site.

Then today i noticed that the translation was gone, and it is back to english. The Swedish language files are still there in the language folder, but on the website it is all English. I have no idea what might have happened. Any help welcome!
