    Dear sir/madam,

    We can’t translate “Subscribe to our newsletter” in the checkout of WooCommerce via .po and .mo files.

    Can you solve this or tell us how to translate it without being overwritten after updates?

    Kind regards,
    Dylan

    @yuluma please update to 2.4.1 and this should resolve your issue ??

    I am trying to translate the plugin also. On my case i am using 2.4.1 and WPML latest version.

    The string is seen by WPML and it allows me to translate it. But on the front-end nothing changes.

    I am not able to translate this string, i have even tried to use the poedit app to create an italian translation file and placed it under the languages/plugins wordpress folder. It did not work.

    Another thing i noticed in the .PO file is that, at least for this string, file/line referenced in the PO file do not corrispond to where the string appears in the code.

    My website is https://www.poshead.com

    Can you guys help?

    @ryanhungate thanx for the update!

    I am now using version 2.4.3 and still cannot translate the string “Subscribe to our newsletter” in the checkout or register page using WPML.

    I can seen and translate the string in the backend WPML string translator for text domain “mailchimp-for-woocommerce”. But front end does not reflect this.

    I have the same problem with WPLMS 3.9. With Loco I have translated almost everything but I cannot touch that text. I think it comes from Mail chimp audience but I don’t see a place to change it in mailchimp. Any idea?

    I use the WPMLS 4.4.8, the Mailchimp for WooCommerce 2.5.0 and the WooComerce 4.8.0.

    As you go in to settings of Woocommerce / Mailchimp / Opt-in Settings / Message for the opt-in checkbox…, leave a field blank to use language translation files (.po / .mo) translating the string: “Subscribe to our newsletter” which is a default text in English. After that you can use the WPML for your own language. Anyway, it worked successfully in my case.

    There is somewhere a customized text (read: field) of the MailChimp for “Subscribe to our newsletter” which must be updated manually before using the WPML or any translation plugin.
