translation into German ?

I have started a translation into German. But the translated strings does not show up on the Dashboard. I have made a new Catalog with Poedit, named the file de_DE , like I always do… translated a few strings, and uploaded per ftp.
But noting shows up in backend?Does anybody have a working translation ?
The plugin itself woks perfect.
