• Hi there,

    I have problem with,

    1. unable to translate after uploading .mo and .po file in the languages folder
    2. garbled up characters on top page

So, for the first problem – I started using Klopp on my website and my target audiences are mainly Japanese. I’ve translated the language file by using Poedit. Uploaded .mo and .po file in the “languages” folder. Though, since it didn’t look like it’s displaying in Japanese, I thought I’ll edit the “wp-config.php” file. But it doesn’t seem to be able to find “define(‘wplang)’ part in the config file. It may be just for older version of WP you’ll need to change the config file, anyways. So now, I’m out of cards what I can do about it. Has anyone tried to translate? Any success?

For the second problem, I have this top page with grid layout – means, I have some newest posts displaying on the landing page with “…read more” link. For whatever the reason, introductory texts area are displaying the Japanese fine, but right in front of the “…read more” area, a couple of characters are garbled up and showing question mark in a diagnosed squares and I’m not sure where I can switch the encoding to UTF-8?

Does anyone have any idea to suggest? BTW, I like the theme. Clean and simple yet stylish and serve the purpose. Thanks!

  • Hello fumipyo! I can help around translation.

Which “languages folder” you upload translation files to?
Is your WordPress dashboard in Japanese? if so, you don’t need edit wp-config.php

    Hello it’s me again.

I tested this theme with .mo file and it worked.
Please make sure you put your language files like “/themes/klopp/languages/ja.mo”.
