    Hello,

I have The Events Calendar and Tickets installed. My site language
is Czech. There are the czech .mo and .po files in plugin lang folders.
I have looked in them, there are translations for “Find Out More” for
the event in list view, as well as “RSVP” for the tickets view. But
for some reason, they are not used and what I see is English… when
switching to German language on my site, some elements still stayed
in English (Organizer, Venue) which is also odd. It seems that the
plugin is not loading the currently used language completely for some
reason. Some other parts of the plugin are in Czech (“Calendar Google”
    or the RSVP information.

I will appreciate any kind of help that you can provide,

    Thank you,

    Petr Chutny

  • Hi there,

If there are not translations submitted for any given language, it will default to English.

You can see the translation stats for each language here: https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/the-events-calendar/stable

You can add a translation file to your site with the correct translations, and if you are up to it, you can submit them to be included in the core plugin translations.

You can find out more here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/translating-the-events-calendar/

    Hope that helps!

Thanks Sky. The thing is, the translations are there (47%), and the parts that don’t show in Czech, are actually translated in these translations (I have checked the .mo and .po files myself). So I feel like the plugin doesn’t open these translations well. I have tried other language and there was the same issue (I think German).

    Hey @petrchutny,

There’s a few different options here.

Since it seems you are familiar with English as well, you can contribute to the translations and help fellow Czech speaking users.

To override these strings, you can use a snippet or third-party plugin like Say What? to manually update these strings.

    Take care,
    Ed ??

Ok I am not sure if you got my message – stuff is translated already, but it doesn’t properly show.
I will look into the translation files again to verify that. I’ve installed the PoEdit and looked there, all the places I need seems to be translated already, it just shows in English instead of Czech, even though Czech is selected in WordPress and works everywhere else.

Thanks @petrchutny, we’ll look into this.

Thank you @erishel, I feel like my voice has been finally heard ??

Hi, so is there a solution for this?
    I have the same problem.
I did translate events calendar strings like “details”, “phone:”, etc, but it doesn’t show translations in the Latvian language, show it in EN language.
I did use loco translator and did edit po file manually, but nothing works.
    Is it a bug?
    How can we solve this?
I use polylang pro un the events calendar plugins.
