• Plugin works good and even the calender day-names are translated to German. But not the rest. (With a strange looking language mix as result)
1.) The Month/Year selector shows also in German Month/Year (instead of Monat/Jahr)
2.) followed by a “Go” (instead of “Los”)
3.) with English month links “<< March 2016 / May 20016 >>” (like the title Month above the calender)
4.) and in the customizable event date, there are only English day names selectable.

    Suggestions:
    a) Make complete the translation
    and/or
    b) Add user options / editable translation tables into settings (allowing users to solve such problems on their own)

Would you be interested in helping complete the German translation? In some cases, I may need to verify that words and phrases are tagged correctly for translation, but I still need people to do the actual translation work.

Tell me how I can help and I will do my best ??

    Hello David,

I am translating the front end of your great plugin on a website into Dutch and I am running into the same issue.

These strings are not part of the .pot file.
Would you please tell me where to find the strings so that I can translate them ?

    1.) The Month/Year selector
    2.) followed by “Go”
3.) English month links “<< March 2016 / May 20016 >>” (like the title Month above the calender)
4.) and in the customizable event date, there are only English day names selectable.

    If this helps (no capitals!):

    months in Dutch :

januari februari maart april mei juni juli augustus september oktober november december

    weekdays in Dutch:

maandag dinsdag woensdag donderdag vrijdag zaterdag zondag

    Go = Ga

    Thank you.

Glad to hear you’re working on a translation. Several of them that were done a while ago had gotten quite out of date.

I’ll try to track down where those things are set and figure out why you’re not seeing translation strings available. You’re saying the month names that appear in the editor also are not translatable?

    That’s correct David.
Once the strings are available for translation, I’ll finish the translation of the front-end.

Okay, I discovered I had to change a few date output routines I had been using for years to make sure the dates appear with localized month names. Try installing version 4.4.7 and letting me know if the dates now show up in the correct local format. You may also have to tweak the date and time settings on the RSVPMaker Settings page, which now use the date template functions for PHP’s strftime() instead of date().

The good news is you may not have to do any additional translation work to get the localized dates to show up.

    I installed version 4.4.7.

English month links “<< March 2016 / May 20016 >>” are now translated, thanks!

I found out that the Event form field names (first name, last name, email, note) can be translated in the event editor under RSVP form if you do not hit the ‘generate form’ button.

    This still cannot be translated:

1.) The Month/Year selector followed by “Go” under the calender
2.) Also, event dates are not shown correctly. They show as ‘januari 28′ instead of the correct ’28 januari’ for example. I changed the date settings, but this didn’t help. I think it has to do with the way the event options date fields are set up under ‘rsvp events’.

I have a few screenshots I could send you if you like.
