translation in frontend

    I like this plugin as it doesn’t use custom post types.
    There is only one disadvantage: The translation has no effect in the frontend.
    I use poedit and translated:
    %1$sfrom%2$s %3$s %4$sto%5$s %6$s ==> %1$svon%2$s %3$s %4$sbis%5$s %6$s
    %1$sfrom%2$s %3$s %4$sto%5$s %6$s ==> %1$svon%2$s %3$s %4$sbis%5$s %6$s
    Join link ==> Link ?ffnen
    Add to Google calendar ==> Zu Google-Kalender hinzufügen
    The result you can see in the link above.

    Please help. It’s more important if the users can see all text in their language than the translations in the backend.

  • I can confirm that translations seem to have no effect on frontend.

    It seems that it’s not a plugin issue but a translation issue. And I can’t figure which file you edit with poedit.

    Anyway, the goods pratices for translation are:

    – For a test or developpment usage: add wp-content/languages/plugins/event-post-de_DE.po ans its .mo (for example)
    – For a production and collaborative usage: finish the official translation

    Thank You for the answer.
    Of course I created a file event-post-de_DE.po (and the corresponding .mo-file) from the event-post.pot and translated the above-mentioned strings and put them into wp-content/languages/plugins/event-post-de_DE.po.
    As there is no result I asked Your help.

    The problem concerning the official translation is:
    There are 220 waiting and 83 translated strings (from 298 -a strange calculation???). In either case waiting and translated strings are together more than required 90% to generate the official language pack for the plugin. The oldest suggestion is from 2017-06-13.
    Obviously the translators team doesn’t cope with managing suggestions.

    It could be a caching problem. First time I put the translation files into /wp-content/plugins/event-post/languages/. Now there are also in /wp-content/languages/plugins/. Some times after clearing the cache my problem is solved.
