    Hi, thanks for great plugin.
I have been using this plugin for a half year, then I realized that the translation is not reflected for most of parts in this a few weeks.

I am using in Japanese, and translation was almost perfect at the beggining.
Is there anything that you’ve changed aroud translation?

I can not change any language at personal setting.
There are no default lanugage section at config/common.config.ini.php

Would you let me know how I can change the language.
    Thanks,

Hi @nobo73, can you tell me which parts of the plugin are translated and which aren’t? I don’t believe the WordPress pages currently have translations, just the Matomo reporting/admin pages (the pages with the blue header and Matomo logo).

    Hi, thanks.

I only can see the translation at submenu of “Dashboard” and link to WordPress Dashboard on the top right.

I think it is because, I am using “Loco Translate” plugin. and I see error “Error :?Invalid pot file: matomo.pot” at Loco Translation dashboard.
It had been no problem with Loco Translation for a few months, but now it “matomo.pot” seems invalid, and it seems the reason for that.

Do you have any idea to fix that?

@nobo73 Matomo for WordPress has always shipped with a completely blank POT file. If this is suddenly causing a problem, it might be worth bringing it up with the Loco Translate team.

That said, half of Matomo is translated via the core Matomo product (ie, the standalone, self-hosted version), not through any WordPress mechanism. So, if those translations are not being displayed (eg, the text in the left menu that has “Visitors” and “Actions” as selectable categories), then something else is going on. Let me know if this is the case and we’ll troubleshoot further.

    Thanks for your support.

Well, I duplicated my site to other URL, and Matomo works well with translation.
I don’t know the difference between both sites, but all the setting is the same, except the URL.

I will keep investigate why translation does not work with my site.
    Thanks,

For the Matomo dashboard, you might also try running “Sync Users” in Matomo Analytics > Diagnostics > Troubleshooting. It’s possible the WordPress language preference wasn’t synced to Matomo properly.

If you have access to the database and are able to run SQL directly, you could check the contents of the wp_matomo_user_language table.

    Hi, thanks for your support.

I tried “User Sync”, but it did not work well.

I also checked DB,”matomo_user_language“Table, and all the table are set to “ja”.
But, it is not translated to Japanese.

It seems, there are something wrong with Loco Translation, so I will ask them about it.
    Thanks,

@nobo73 I’m going to mark this as resolved, but if you haven’t been able to resolve the issue and would like our help, feel free to create a new issue (or comment on this one again).
