Awesome plugin! So grate work but too hard for users who don’t know English at all. Need translation. I used Poedit (as usual) and translated all lines with “Att. Categories” for example. ru_RU.mo and ru_RU.po files are in the folder \media-library-assistant\languages\ (where en_US.pot is) but nothing happend. All “Att. Categories” are in English… What can I do?

PS.. Many thanks for so good documentation…

Thanks for the good words. I’ve done my best to prepare MLA for translation into other languages and I welcome help from anyone who can produce translated .po files.

Thank you for reporting this issue, which results from two bugs in the current version. First, the code is trying to load the .mo file from the wrong location, which fails. Second, the .mo file MUST be prefixed by the plugin slug. In other words, your .mo file must be named “media-library-assistant-ru_RU.mo” to be found and loaded.

I will correct the code and the Internationalization Guide document in my next release. In the interim, I am happy to say you can get your .mo file loaded by naming it correctly and adding it to the WordPress language directory as described in the Internationalization Guide. For example, unless you have changed the default location (with the WP_LANG_DIR constant) you can name and place your file as follows:

    /wp-content/languages/media-library-assistant/media-library-assistant-ru_RU.mo

That should work; let me know if it does not.

Thanks again for this report and for your patience while I correct the bugs.

Thanks for update on the alternate location for the translation files. I agree, the path convention is interesting, but it’s the convention introduced by WordPress in their 3.7 release.

I have released version 1.81, which corrects both of the defects related to your original report. Properly named translation files in the /wp-content/plugins/media-library-assistant/languages directory will now be loaded as planned.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions. Thanks again for the report and for your interest in the plugin.
