    Hi guys,

I just translate the new strings for es_VE (and sent the missing ones to es_ES). I noticed some issues that you should fix for next release:

    1. There isn’t a Stable release of plugin, for that reason isn’t generating the language pack automatically. It’s a good practice to tag a stable release because GlotPress auto generate and install the language pack in the sites where the plugin is installed. More info here
    2. Text domain is missing in several strings of settings page (/includes/legacy/settings-page.php) and other are not formated inside translation functions (e.g. :407)
    3. There is a new file with thousand new strings without any context (languages/dynamic/dummy.php), are the plugin using those strings currently? If you see the status of translation almost all locale are under 8% percent. The language packages are generated when the 95% of strings is completed and the most of users don’t know how to create a .mo file manually. Maybe you’re losing users for this reason.

Did you know that your plugin is in the top 200 list of active installs? That’s the reason we notice yours because we bring priority to this list before any other plugin.

Hope this helps you to improve your plugin.

  • Hi @yordansoares

Thank you so much for your feedback, I’ve logged these on our issue tracker and will make sure these points are addressed for our next patch.

Regarding the dummy.php file, we’re presently experimenting with enabling translation for dynamic strings, by popular request. I’ll add code to our build script to make sure this is removed before deploying any future releases.

Is there anything else we can help you with?

    Kind regards

Hi. I can translate this plugin to Galician. What I need to do?

    Hi @fernandocoello,

To begin sending string suggestion to Galician, please click here to go to the Galician projects of WP Google Maps. Choose a project (e.g. Development (trunk)) and double-click in each string you want to translate, fill the translated word or phrase in the text area and click “Suggest” button. In this point, your suggestion will be already in queue, a reviewer (Global Translation Editor, GTE) will review each string and approve it or reject (if it’s wrong).

    Hi @fernandocoello , Hi @yordansoares

    Thank you for that.

We actual provide bundled translations for certain languages, as well as supporting hte community translations – we find that for some languages, reviewers are incredibly scarce.

For this reason, you can also send your translation files directly to us.

    I hope that helps!

    Kind regards
    – Perry
