    Hi,

Using blocksy companion I activated the free extension “subscribe to newsletter”. I configured it with API and everything works great! The only problem is the confirmation. I need it in Polish. But I get the message “Thank you for subscribing!” only in English.

In wp-content folder -> plugins -> blocksy-companion -> languages I found various blocksy-companion- .mo and .po files covering some languages but not Polish. With the help of the poedit software I created also translation of “Thank you for subscribing!” for the Polish language -> blocksy-companion-pl_PL (.mo/.po). But it’s not working. The message is still in English. So I experimented with other langaues that were available in that language folder of the blocksy-companion plugin out of the box. I picked the Russian language. The phrase “Thank you for subscribing!” was already translated into Russian in -> blocksy-companion-ru_RU (.po). I changed the language from Polish to Russian in wordpress dashboard (settings -> general). I subscribed to my newsletter expecting now to get a russian translation of the confirmation “Thank you for subscribing!” but it was still in English (no caching in place yet so caching cannot be responsible for it). So it looks like there is no reponse to those .po files in language folder of the blocksy-companion plugin for “Thank you for subscribing!”.

Could you please advise how I can fix it. Thank you very much.

  • Hello @jsnaxx

Thank you for reporting this. This is actually not an issue with the Companion plugin.

I have spoken with the developers and they have informed me that the string “Thank you for subscribing” comes from Mailchimp’s configuration, not the Companion, because that’s how their API works like. You will need to use Mailchimp’s settings to modify this.

The Companion string is present because of our other, Mailerlite integration. That’s something that their API allows us to control. We will change the string for the Mailerlite integration, as to not confuse users in the future.

Bottom line is, if you’re using Mailchimp, you need to change the string from Mailchimp’s settings.

    Thanks!
