Translation of ‘Date: %s’ into Latvian

    Hello,

    I started to translate the plugin, and I have doubt how to translate labels that include ‘%s’. Is ‘%s’ used for plurals? If so, I would like to give an example:

    Date in Latvian: Datums.
    Plural form: Datumi.

    So the last letter ‘s’ is replaced with ‘i’. What is the right way to display this?

    Hi Dace,

    As mentioned in your other topic, %s is used to display the variable itself.

    If I’m not mistaken, there are nu plural strings.

    Are you willing to become a translation editor as well? This way you can approve strings. Without approval a translation will not become available for the public. If you are not willing to become one, sometimes strings got approved within a few days but it can also happen strings get approved after a year.

    Thanks, now I got it.

    This is my first translation project. There are strings I could approve, but still there are some I am not 100% sure of. For example, what do you mean by Event Meta? Is it Event Metainormation or Event Metadata?

    Should I contact the Latvian team to become a translation editor?

    Event meta = event info (used on the event page in dashboard, check this pic).

    I can post a request on the Polyglots page, to make you translation editor for your native language (Latvian).

    I notice you’ve already became translation editor of VSEL plugin for Latvian.

    Are you able and willing to complete the translation? You can find it here.

    You only have to translate the “Development (trunk)” part.
