• I have installed the swedish language pack for my site and edited the wp-config.php file. The theme I′m using is Travelify. There was no swedish language pack so I used Poedit and translated it to swedish. Then I uploaded the se-SV.po and se-SV.mo files to the theme′s language folder.

But – many words and phrases are still in english on my site. It says “read more”, “No comments”, “Search”, “One thought on”, “reply” and some other words and phrases in the front end.

I have a gut feeling that I have done something wrong with the language pack for the theme bit I can′t figure out what it is. Do anyone have any ideas about what′s missing?

  • Probably either the translation isn’t complete or there are some hardcoded strings (phrases) in the theme files…

I can′t figure it out because some phrases on the website is only with lower-case letters and those are not found in the language pack. Some others have a capital letter in the beginning and those are included in the language pack, but they still don′t show up in swedish on the website.

If some phrases are hardcoded, how can I find them in all the files? I′ve tried to search in the theme folder on my computer with my computers search function but it doesn′t seem to find anything.

The language pack is translated to 50% as I didn′t bother translating back end stuff.

    Magiana,

All your above mentioned strings are definitely translatable.

Make sure that you are using translations from the right theme version. For instance, if you are using language file from 1.5 and theme now runs on 2.0 then there might be some incompatibility.

If you have translated string “Search” in language file and savedit as sv_SV.po and sv_SV.mo then definetly you should see in on your live website, of cours if you have the right language file and theme versions.

Once you have completed translations, I would really appreciate if you could send me these files and I will make them available for everyone.

    Thank you!

For some reason I can′t submit the translation using the form. I get an error saying “Validation errors occurred. Please confirm the fields and submit it again.” I can′t see any errors.

I translated one of the .po fíles which was included in the theme (2.0). When it didn′t work I found the travelify.pot file and made the changes to that file and saved as sv_SE.po (not sv_SV.po). It still does not work.

Ok, send them to support[at]divilab.com and I will have a look and will respond you from there.
