• Hello there!

I have recently started building my blog MusicaMental. I’m using the free version of the Optimizer theme, which is great, and I’m using the qtranslateX plugin, which is also great. I am bilingual and so I do each of the translations (no translation is automatic).

Normally I can put in text in both languages by using the language switching buttons in the editor mode. In some fields, this does not work, so I’ve used the language code when entering the text and it has worked well so far, like this:

[:en]How to practice better[:es]Cómo practicar mejor[:]

In the Categories editor in the Dashboard, I’ve entered the names like the above example, and when switching buttons it appears great, like this:

How to practice better (when I’m in the English option)
Cómo practicar mejor (in the Spanish option)

It’s also OK in the drop-down menu of categories. However there’s an odd problem.

Only on the category pages themselves, in the top header that goes above the posts, it reads like the first example I gave you, with the codes, and I don’t know how to fix it. You can see it for yourself here.

I read in the qtranslateX plugin support pages that when specific things like this happen, you need to either code something into your theme’s integration (which I can’t do because I don’t know how to code) or ask the people who created the theme to do it. It said there that it’s supposed to be a simple thing to code into the theme? If you go to the qtranslateX integration guide you can read what I’m saying.

I’m sorry if I can’t explain this better and I hope you guys can help me out! I love this theme and I’d hate having to change it due to a translation incompatibility ?? Especially because all the other translated fields work well!

Thanks in advance to whomever can help me!

    Willa

Hi, I posted this 5 days ago, can someone please help me? If not, who do I need to contact about this?

@willa Sorry for the late reply. Instead of translating the category name like this. You should translate the Category Names from Posts > Categories.

    Thanks
