• Hi, there are still a lot of problems with finding the bundle for configuring Loco Translate to do the translation job properly. WordPress simply can’t find it, so Loco does not read the po files.

    Additional Files Found

Obviously, I have to help Loco Translate to locate the Mailchimp plugin bundle. I’ve tried to solve this for such a long time. There should be a solution. What should I do?

    Partially Configured Bundle

  • Hi @eric-lindesvard,

Thanks for reaching out! To be sure that I’m on the same page, it looks like you’re using this third party plugin, Loco Translate, to attempt to translate the po files for MailChimp List Subscribe Form plugin. I don’t see that the description for that plugin expressly mentions the ability to also translate plugin files, which indicates that it may not be possible to use this plugin in conjunction with the List Subscribe plugin in that way. That being said, a list of translations that exist can be found in the “Other Notes” section for the MailChimp List Subscribe plugin, here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/mailchimp/other_notes/ And the po files can be found in the po folder, here: https://github.com/crowdfavorite/wp-mailchimp

I hope this helps! And please, if I’m misunderstanding feel free to reply back here and clarify. We want to help out as much as we can.

    Warm Regards,

    Pearl

Hi, well, this is not really that complicated.

More on the matter is explained here: https://localise.biz/help/wordpress/loading-translations

Loco Translate, like any other WordPress translation service, is just trying to locate the source .pot file and then output that in .mo and .po files.

You’re using the non standard _i18n in the textdomain, and that’s fine. I can make the translation software find that textdomain, but the thing is that the .pot file does not carry the original strings to be translated. The strings seems to be located in the mailchimp.php file.

And I simply can’t load the strings from there. I don’t know how to do it. Hoped you guys knew.

    Hi @eric-lindesvard,

Thank you for that clarification. I alerted our developers to this issue and they are looking into getting that corrected – we appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and I’m sorry for the trouble it has caused thus far. I totally understand that some adjustments here on our end would be helpful. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any other questions we can help out with.

    Thanks again,

    Pearl

No worries! Thank you back for bringing it to the dev table.

    Hi,

I am having the exact problem as dexcribe above and i am using LOCO translate, has somebody found a solution to this problem ? It is related to the .pot file, i have no issues with translations on other plugins.

for example, this is the info taken from the file info tab in Loco translate (for all languages shown in Mailchimp plugin):

“Missing Template” > “These translations are not linked to a POT file. Sync operations will extract strings directly from source code”

“Sync” does not do anything to the files.

    Regards

    Hi @hawkzon,

Thank you for joining the thread. It doesn’t look like this issue has been addressed yet, however I went ahead and passed along this additional case internally to our developers to review. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to provide an estimated time frame for resolution, but we really appreciate you posting this additional case. The more volume we get on this the better.

Thanks again – please let us know if you have any other List Subscribe related questions we can help out with in the meantime.

    Pearl
