    Hi,

    1. when I set up translate press, does it translate all the pages into the new language or does it translate them only when someone clicks a link or chooses a language? Just looking to minimise costs.
    2. Is it possible to set up, say, english to french. Then if i decide i want english to german in a month’s time, choose to do that? or does it all have to be decided up front?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

    1. TranslatePress does not automatically translate pages by default. However, we do offer integration with Google and DeepL’s API (DeepL is only available in the Business and Developer packages).

In case you will use one of the automatic translation engines, each page will be translated when accessed.

After it is accessed, all the translations will be saved, string by string, into the database.

This means that the automatic translation engine will be queried only the first time you access the page.

    2. TranslatePress premium allows you to add an unlimited number of languages.

The free version of TranslatePress will only let you translate your website from one default language into one secondary language. However, you will be able to change the secondary language in case you decide so.

    Best wishes,

Thanks for your detailed answer. on the second point – yes i understand i’ll need the premium version. Assuming i’m using that and automating translations, i’d like to first translate all my pages into french. Then assuming all that goes well, after a month translate them into german, then spanish, then italian – all in stages as I’d like to check all is well before moving on to another language. is that possible?

Guys, you keep answering half a question then going AWOL. Can you please answer the second part of my question. I can’t order the premium version without this info.
