I have set my website using the Affinity theme, really nice looking theme !
I am now translating my website using the “Polylang” plugin to have it multilingual.

I have trouble with the static front page and the “panels” on this front page. Even though each panel (=page in backend) is translated and linked to its translation, only the first language panels are displayed, whatever language is chosen. It seems like the theme is ignoring the translation for these panels.

Have anyone been able to have a multilingual site using this theme ? If yes, with which multilang plugin ?

    Thank you !

  • Hi there,

To be clear, when you say panels, you mean menus? And you have created on menu per language as explained here: https://polylang.pro/doc/create-menus/? I believe that is what you are referring to, I just want to confirm before assisting further.

    Thanks!

    Hi !
When I say panels, I don’t mean menus but panels ??
For the Affinity theme, it’s pages that are displayed as parts of the front page, with nice transition between those “panels”.
Check my front page vin-benassy.fr/, “Nos engagements”, “Notre Histoire”, … are panels, meaning they are pages in the backend.
Other users have had the same problem and have used a different theme. I’ll do that if there is no solution !
    Thank you,

    Hi there,

    Gotcha! Memory lapse there. ??

I would try WPML as a paid plugin option

    https://wpml.org/

or Weglot as a free plugin option:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/weglot/

Both are a little bit better at translating all content on your site than Polylang and hopefully will pull in the content in the panel as well.If that doesn’t work, trying a different theme may be the best bet.

Let me know if that works for you. Thanks!
