    Hi Stefan,

nice work, thank you very much!

I’m using 1.5.6 for Serbian to switch between Cyrillic and Latin.
To better understand the functionality of “Transliteration Mode”, I’ve made a test-site and created a table with all four combinations of “My site is” and “Transliteration Mode”.
Bottom line: I don’t see any difference in behavior between “Cyrillic to Latin” and “Latin to Cyrillic”.

Could you please shortly explain the expected behavior of Transliteration Mode?
Or is there some documentation already, which I only haven’t found yet? (I’m new around)

    Thank you and best regards,
    Milan

You only see the difference in transliteration when you insert into menu switcher for the language script.

The plugin is activated with a forced Latin alphabet at each first installation.

You don’t see the difference because it all depends on the settings found in the SEO settings: “First visit mode”. There you choose how they will behave on the first visit to the site.

Another way is to clear the rstr_script cookie.

But for testing it is best to use the navigation provided by our plugin.

I was not precise enough ??
My table has 8 columns – all four combinations of Mode and Site and then setting the viewing language to Cyrillic and Latin.

Is there a way to upload something here – Excel-table or PDF or at least a picture?
My table would show you my problem…

Ver.1.5.7 haven’t solved the problem. I see almost no difference in behavior between 1.5.6 and 1.5.7 – considering only this issue, of course. I haven’t tested other issues yet.

As I understand, there’s no way to upload anything here.
So I’ll create the place on my test-site and post a link – asap, which is in the evening or tomorrow.

In the mean time it would be nice for me to understand the intended functionality of “My site is” and “Transliteration Mode”. It could be that I’m just misinterpreting something and trying to use the plug-in “out of spec”.

Next question: how do you decide whether to convert an object or not? I encounter cases where plug-in simply does nothing.

The plugin follows loads of action hooks from WordPress and supports several themes and plugins. These action hooks need to be followed by developers of all themes and plugins which is not a common case. Therefore, parts of various themes and plugins can remain unchanged. In that case, you have to force transliteration.

“My site is” – indicates whether the site is written in Latin or Cyrillic. The letter on which the site is executed.

“Transliteration Mode” – If the site is Cyrillic, you should transliterate Cyrillic into Latin. If the site is Latin, you should transliterate Latin into Cyrillic. But the Latin transliteration in Cyrillic is quite problematic and in some cases it can do some ridiculous nonsense.
