Transparent Footer and Header on Customizr

Hi

I’ve just made a new front page for my site: https://www.andherethewheel.co.nz and my footer is right in the middle of the page (I want it gone) and my header is white (I want it transparent so that the background image comes through.

I’ve looked on the forums and lots of solutions don’t work for me.

The background image is on my static front page rather than a background image so maybe that isn’t helping me? (when i made it a general background image all my pages had that background and I want everything but the static front page to be white).

I’m using Customizr and i’ve set up a child theme. I’ve commented out the entire footer.php file in the parent (not showing one in the child) but that made no difference. Is there some way to make the footer just disappear?
