Trash auto-deletes posts?

  • i had ~15 blog posts online and published that were largely done but needed a further polishing up. so i moved them to trash. when i came back later, they were all gone(!)

    does wp autodele trash without my orders? can i get these posts back?

  • Why on earth would you “store” posts in your Trash!? All you need to so is set their publication status to Draft or Pending Review. And, no – you can’t get those posts back unless you have a recent database backup and fancy carrying out a database restore.

    well i generally think that WP is a very good service but i think that autodeleting posts is a little too fancyful. don’t you think users can permadelete their own posts?

    You can “permadelete” your own posts from Trash by selecting Delete Permanently but WordPress will auto-empty your Trash every 30 days by default.

    If you’re a Windows users, do you store documents in your Recycle Bin? If you’re a house owner, do you leave your house by the window instead of the door? Trash is not a storage folder. It’s a folder for posts/pages that you have marked for deletion. You need to use the right tools/options in the right way at the right time.

    you asked with i would store them in the trash. i told you, because WP designed it so that its quicker than to do what you said.

    you liked the trash folder to windows recycle bin. great. but recycle bin does not auto delete the things in there.
