Who at Wordfence thought it was a great idea to word Plugin update alerts like they were hacking attempts? Seriously…updates do not equal “Problems with WordPress”. FFS!! Get real! This fear mongering over-embellishment is ridiculous and predatory.

Hi @adwheeler, thanks for your feedback!

The emails are based on the severity level that the site administrator considers a problem in Wordfence > All Options > Alert me with scan results of this severity level or greater. Some people will want to take note of every low severity problem (and above) for their own reference and decide on a case-by-case basis whether to take action. Some will choose to only see critical alerts, so seeing this email arrive in their inbox may indeed suggest that more urgent action is necessary.

The full list of severity levels and what falls under each level is available here so that customers can set this appropriately for their needs: https://www.wordfence.com/help/dashboard/alerts/

    Peter.
