• Hello,
I am using the travelify theme. Very content up to now. Here are my questions:
1.) I would like to use a e-commerce shop. I integrated woo-commerce and want to sell a DVD and the same film as a downloadable file. Up to now it’s not running. When I want to upload the film it says it is restricted to 1GB. The film file is 1.19GB, though. What can I do. ?

2.) How will the theme work regarding download of the file by the purchaser. Will it be that the purchaser will select the product, will go to checkout, pay (via transfer or paypal), and will be redirected to where he/she can download the file. Is it that straight forward ???

    Thanks for any tips
    Lorenz

    1. I am surprised that you have 1GB upload size limit because usually it is much, much lower than that. Some time ago I wrote some basic tips how you can increase upload size. if you are thinking about hosting over 1GB files then your hosting provider is not going to be happy about that if you use shared web hosting ??

    2. This theme features basic WooCommerce support which means that it supports all functionality but it doesn’t overwrite it. So everything is handled from WooCommerce side. The best place to start with WooCommerce and digital downloads is by reading this article from WooCommerce documentation.

    Hi Silkalns,

thanks for the reply. I will read into the links. I am really confused. I think it’s quite normal if I want to sell a film via download that it comes in decent quality. The film is 70min long so I don’t really know how to get it below 1GB without loosing quality. Hope I will not run into major problems now that I am launching the site shortly.

    Lorenz,

Share hostings are for simple blogs and business website that are few MB in size in total and doesn’t use much resources. All shared hostings are advertised as “Unlimited” but they have limits and those limits are very low especially if these files will be downloaded dozens of times a day. But there is no better way to find it out by just give it a try and see what comes out of it. Switching to another hosting is easy, so no problems with that.

If you have no idea how to edit php.ini file to increase maximum upload then contact your hosting provider and ask if they can do it for you.

    Dear Silkalns,

thanks for all your helpful answers. Now I ran into major problems, though, and I need help of an expert of wordpress/travelify/woocommerce. My shop is not working properly. Mainly the payment works but there is no redirection to a download link for the bought download product, which is in the woo commerce shop.
I need somebody who knows about this and can find the bug and get the shop online. I am aware that this needs to be paid.
Are you willing or do you know somebody capable of correcting the issue professionally ???
    Greetings
    Lorenz
