• I tried to download and install the Trencaspammer plugin with WP1.5. I noticed there were two php files in the Trencaspammer download:

    wp-comments-post.php
    and
    wp-comments.php

According to the readme.txt file, I’m supposed to add a block of code to each of these files on my server, then upload and activate the plugin file. First off, in my WP1.5 install, I didn’t find any wp-comments.php file so I’m wondering if the currently latest version of this plug-in is okay with WordPress 1.5.

Anyone have experience installing this with WP1.5?

  • wp-comments belonged with 1.2. Comments.php is the new naming scheme used in 1.5. That file is located in your themes folder (wp-content/themes/themename/)

You could try to get it to work by making the same changes in the comments.php file, but I have no guarantees since I haven’t used that plugin myself.

A [bad] Google translation of the Trancaspammers page returns:

“in fabulous wordpress 1,5 no longer wp-comments.php exists the file to which reference in most of the instructions becomes. Nevertheless that file is in the new structure of groups in/wp-content/themes/tu_tema/comments.php”
