• Developing a website for my client on my dev server/host.. Have been having performance issues with this plugin, and I always thought it was my dev server/host, but they persisted when I moved the site to my client’s live site. In troubleshooting the issue I ran across this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/slow-loading-w-many-feeds

I downloaded the beta version referenced in this thread, installed it, and WOW what a HUGE difference.. this plugin was already great.. It’s even BETTER now!!! Normally I don’t like to use beta versions of plugins, but the improvement is soooo good, that I’m good with this one..

Just wanted to tell the author to keep up the good work!!! When will this version be available??

  • I don’t get it, that beta version is a much lower version than the stable version which is = Version 2.67.63 (2014-5-27) =

    Shouldn’t it miss stuff?

Ummmm… if you read the thread I’d posted (and read the AUTHOR’s comments from a few months ago) you’d see why it doesn’t “miss stuff”..

If you DOWNLOADED the beta version and did a file comparison to the latest version in the WP repo, you see why it doesn’t “miss stuff”..

    EDITED TO ADD:

and let me save a little bit of back and forth on this..

In that thread it was asked:

I noticed an update in this plugin today. Does it include these changes, or do would I still need to download the file to get them?

    The author responded:

the beta has the update already in it.

Do some research.. clearly the author is developing this version in PARALLEL to the one in the repo.. bugs identified in one are apparently being addressed in the beta version (if they do in fact exist since some of the underlying structure of the beta is different).. So my suggestion is to a little researching on your own (that’s what I did before I installed) and perhaps setup a test site and review it for yourself.. All I know if that I’ve installed the beta version on three sites and all of the performance issues pulling feeds are GONE..
