• Hey, my original website was moviesfilmcinema.com, but we decided to change to reelists.com.

We probably made a mistake in changing the URL in the General settings, but now I can’t even access my dashboard to help fix the issue. The original URL doesn’t work and the new one isn’t set up right, so it doesn’t display the site.

Not sure how to fix this. Would hate to have to rebuild everything from scratch.

  • I suggest you to backup the database before doing anything further.

I hope you understand that the DNS needs approx 48 hrs to populate and it is routing correctly at this point. As I see it is pointing to GoDaddy parking page.

if you are to point to the same database, you need to edit 2 entries in wp_option table.

siteurl and home. You will see your old domain entry in there. Just modify it via phpmyadmin.

Let’s assume I know nothing about this sort of thing, which is not too much of an assumption.

Where is the database stored? I did not start this wordpress account, a friend did. Let’s say someone knows nothing about any of this. Where would the database be stored and how would I access it?
