• I have installed WordPress 3.2.1 and two themes into my hosting account. One theme was called butterfly and the other clockstone.

The clockstone theme has its own dashboard, but I didn’t realize that I could only use that to update the theme. I added menu items using the WordPress dashboard. Then I checked the site none of the menu items were visible.

I was frustrated by this and decided that the theme was too complicated for me to figure out and I attempted to activate the Butterfly theme instead.

Now the only thing I can see on my site are these words:

This theme is released under creative commons licence, all links in the footer should remain intact

I can not get back into the admin page even when I enter the URL
    https://www.goldenbutterfly.us/wp-admin

I can get into the files on the server and I could delete either or both of the directories where the themes are located if that would solve the problem.

  • Try switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
