This is only happening on our iPhone/Apple mobile devices. The site is on a VPS and my host tried to help, but they could not replicate the problem so they bowed out.

When the site is accessed initially, just the domain name, it wants to open a file called “download”. Viewing that file shows the contents on index.php.

I can go to any other page or the login page. Once I login, I can go to the index.php without any problem.

When I logout again, it’s tries to download the index again.

It’s the strangest thing. I cannot figure out why it’s doing this or how to fix it. I tried Safari on my Mac and it loads fine. We have 4 iDevices (iPhones and iPads) trying to access it and it won’t load index.php.

Any ideas? I’ve been troubleshooting, restoring, disabling plugins, themes, and reinstalling literally all day. ??

Thanks for the reply Steve. It magically fixed itself. I fell asleep last night while I was searching for a solution and when I checked it this morning it was fixed. Could have been a propagation issue. (So if anyone finds this through search and are experiencing the same issue, wait it out a few hours, it may fix itself.) It was doing this on my desktop earlier yesterday but my hosting support fixed that… however it was still wonky on Apple devices.

If it happens again, I’ll post here with the URL. But all is well for the moment.
