Trouble changing fonts in Purity (HELP)

  • Hello All,
    I’m a relative newbie to WP but I’ve managed to populate the “Purity” theme fairly well. I am having a bit of an issue however with regard to the changing of fonts. I downloaded the Google Font plugin which works fairly simply. I’m trying to change the heading fonts to (Patua One). Unfortunately the homepage tagline, page headings and navigation fonts are unaffected. They remain as the original font included in the theme template (LeagueGothicRegular). The theme developer made the following recommendations:
    “And you will need to modify the style.css file
    and completely remove the @font-face part
    and all of the ‘League Gothic’ residues.”
    I tried this but ended up with some funny looking fattish version of Patua One.
    Can anyone help me with this problem? Many thanks in advance.

    I was just going to suggest its something to do with your stylesheet overiding changes, but you’ve worked that one out ??

    All of these tags are using “LeagueGothicRegular”, font weight normal:

    .nav, h1, h2, h3, h4, .home_tagline h1, .tagline h1, .over span, .dropcap1, .dropcap2, .bold, .nivo-caption

    You could try taking “Patua one” out of the h1 tag on the stylesheet to be sure (just by commenting it out), but as far as I can see it looks good.
