• Hi,

About 10 days ago I removed my static header and menu on all my blog posts. Right after my clicks (visitors) decreased a lot and are still decreasing. Could this have anything to do with the removal of the header and menu?

    Best regards

  • Hello,

It could be that your previous header had more clear navigation than your current header. Unfortunately, It is not a theme-related issue. It is more related to your site structure and navigation.

    Ah now that makes sense!

I do have breadcrumbs left. But I have no menu since the menu is a part of the header.

So my next question would be if you could help me to add a simple menu to these pages? A simple menu that does not require my whole header? Please take a look at my website to see what I mean. You can see my header at my home page. ANd then if you click on a post you can see what it looks like without.

    Thank you!

    Best regards

Hi again, would this be possible to do?

    Hello,

Sorry but not getting your exact issue.
If you want to add the simple menu, you can go to Appearance > Menu, from here you can create a menu and use it.

If you are looking for something else, please share some more details and related snapshots to check.

    Thank you!

And sorry for not being more clear!

But as you can see on my website I have a menu already that is built in with the header. Now, since I have removed the header on all the pages where I have my single posts, the menu is also gone.

So, I was wondering if I could add another, simple menu, to those pages, so that there will be some kind of menu still without the header. So that is my question.

I am looking into customizer and menus. But I see no option that I think would be good fit so I would need some help. Should I choose “TopBar” maybe? And then, when I am in the separate posts, go down to oceanwp settings and add topbar? Would that help?

    Best regards

    Hi did you see this?

    Hello,

Yes, you can do it. You can always override menu and header settings from the page level oceanwp settings.

Kindly share snapshots of what exactly you are looking for, so I can able to do some more help.

    Hi again,

I tried to add a screen shot here but I was not able to. Can you please go to any of my posts, for example the first one on my home page. When you do that you will see what it looks like now. There is no menu whatsoever since I have (on page level for every single blog post) disabled the header.

But, I would like to have a simple menu still. Even though I don’t want the header.

    Best regards

    Hello,

You can attach the snapshots here and share the URL.
    https://imgbb.com/

And sorry but If you will disable the header/topbar from the page/post level settings then how it is possible to display the menu.

You can do one thing that create a very simple menu template via theme Panel > My Library, and assign those templates to the header from the page level settings. I this way you can get a simplest menu on your single post.

I do not understand. When I go to my library all I see is my Elementor header. How do I create a simple menu you mean? And how do I create a menu if I remove elementor all together?

    Hello,

Go to Appearance > Menu, from here you can create a simple menu and assign the menu items.

Now, go to Appearance > Customize > Header > General, here use any default header style instead of the custom header.

    Thank you that is awesome!

I would then like to have a vertical menu. But how do I make it happen so that this vertical menu is shown on my single blog posts and not the home page? As I understand it now, if I click on publish it will make the vertical menu on my whole website. Is there a way to have it only on the single blog posts?

    Best regards
    Ann

    Hello,

Do you want the verticle header style only on the single post?

If yes, then you can edit the posts, scroll down at the header/menu tab in the oceanwp settings section and use the verticle menu for those posts.

Following the doc also help you with it.

Yes correct, for now. Then further on I will get it on the whole site.

So I found the menu tab in the editing page for a single blog post. Not sure if it works though. I am trying different menu options but nothing happens as I click on preview? Have I missed something?

    Hello,

Sorry but not getting you exactly. Can you share a short video of the issue which you are facing?
You can always change the menu style and menu from the oceanwp page level settings as I mentioned above. Update the changes and check the settings works or not.
