Trouble logging in to akismet

  • I got asked by an email to update my account for akismet as my credit card had changed. I tried to log in to do so and could not. I checked my WP username and password. No problem getting in to WP site. I tried to contact akismet but the web says that support is not available right now!

    I had replied to their email and told them my problem. No response. I even told them I wanted to upgrade my account to a more expensive one. No response. You would think they would want my money, no?

    Anyone else having similar problems? How can I contact them to get my account updated and upgraded? Very frustrated

    Sorry I was away for a day. I got the email from them on 1/25 saying I need to update my card. Gave me a link to contact them if I had any trouble. That is when I ran into trouble. I emailed a reply back to them that day.

    Then I emailed again on 1/27

    Still no word

    I wonder if the problem is that the link in their email is for a wordpress.com but I am on www.ads-software.com? So when asked to sign in , the passwords don’t work?

    Stiil one should be able to reach them and I just clicked on “contact” and saw the same message again:

    “We’re not here right now!

    Akismet support is closed while we’re hard at work improving our service. But don’t worry, Akismet never takes time off and will continue to battle spam for you while we’re away.”

    So does this mean my site isn’t getting spam saved since my account has a balance due?

    No. The Akismet service is run by Automattic – who run wordpress.com and are the people originally behind WordPress. Whether you have a site on wordress.com or a self-hosted WP site, everyone uses the same Akismet service.

    Please give them a little more than 24 hours to reply. If you haven’t heard back in a week, try emailing them again.

    OK. I did check my dashboard and stats. Seems I am still getting their service. So that is good. But I think I should have a backup and want to add Vaultpress. Can’t do it until I can log in. Arg!

    Having the exact same issue. Is everyone here using Chrome? It seems their WordPress.com connect feature worked for me in FireFox but when I attempt to access either Akismet or Gravatar in Chrome it just refreshes the login page.
