• I bought a domain and host on Wednesday night and was told it would take 24-48 hours to launch.

My blog is now live and I can see it. But when I try to log in, it says username is incorrect. Do I just need to wait longer? If not, how to check I’m using the right username? (I thought I was).

    Thank you.

When I try to log in, it also doesn’t recognise my email address, so I can’t get a new password either. I’m sure I have the right email address!

Can someone please help? I can’t use the new blog I’ve paid for as I can’t log in!

Those links haven’t helped me; I don’t understand any of the first one, the second isn’t relevant as it’s my username that is unrecognised and the third one is confusing – how do I log in to phpmyadmin? How do I check my wp- config file? I don’t know what that is!

Can I talk to someone? Or can wordpress confirm my username via email? Please help – it’s been nearly a week since I paid and I’ve spent a lot of money setting up my blog.

www.ads-software.com only distributes & documents WordPress. It does not store your username nor does it have any direct access to your site, so we cannot confirm your username. Also, as WordPress is free software, this volunteer-staffed, forum is the only free support available.

If you cannot use the resources I posted above yourself, then I can only suggest that you consider hiring someone to retrieve your password for you.

WordPress does not recognise my username, Healthy-Holiday. I know this is correct because I received the following email:

    Your username is: Healthy-Holiday
    Your password is: (deleted)
You can now log in: https://www.ads-software.com/support/
    Enjoy!

My host, HostPapa, say they have completed their work because my blog, healthy-holiday.org, is live. They say it is the responsibility of WordPress to help me log in correctly.

What do you suggest I do? From my point of view it seems there has been an error on the side of WordPress when setting up my blog.

Surely if I provide my account number WordPress can confirm my username?

If this can not be resolved please tell me how I can make a formal complaint.

The email you quoted with the Healthy-Holiday username is just your login for this forum. The login information you need is to log in to your own site, where either you or your host set up the WordPress software. Nobody here can possibly know what username you set up on a completely different site.
