Trouble opening downloaded wordpress pages??

  • I hope someone can help me, I am pulling my hair out?

    Here’s the story, I am all new to this, so here it goes.
    forst I tried moving my blog from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com. No success. I downloaded plugin to import over her, but when I go to open downloads it says can’t open pages, I need some kind of file opener. I go to download file opener and that doesn’t open up either. Also I can’t put any mmore files on my desktop because it is crashing my 8 year old computer.

    The second thing is I tried downloading www.ads-software.com from my c-panel for my sub domain name but that isn’t working either?

    I have no clue to what I am doing I know that I want to use www.ads-software.com instead of wordpress.com for my paid domains, it gives me better backlink and seo results to my websites.

    I hope someone out there can help to resolve all these issues for me.

    Forgive me if I’ve misunderstood what you’ve been tryging, but I’m going by what I understand you to be doing: you shouldn’t try to open the downloaded export file (.xml) on your computer. You should be able to upload it to your new site just as it is, and WordPress should sort it out.

    (Also, if you’re saving downloaded files directly to your Desktop area, that’s a really bad idea and no wonder your computer is crashing. Create some subfolders in your Documents area and save the files to those.)
