trouble selecting images

Hi John,

Right now when you click “add new background slide set”, then click “upload background images” it doesn’t allow you to upload from the media you’ve already uploaded. It’s a bug we’ll straighten out soon.

But for now, when you upload background images, click the “upload files” tab and add the images from your computer, instead of your media library. Then hit publish/save and it should work.

This is a bit of a problem. I have a site that I need to add quite alot of different background sets on.. and adding loads of duplicate images is very clunky on the site, any idea when you might be sorting this out?

Sorry for the difficulties in using the plugin.

We are aware of the issue and it is currently scheduled to be included in next couple of version updates, which we anticipate the releasing date to be towards the end of the month (Dec. 2015).

If you follow this thread with the follow up notification options on, we will post again when the update is released.

Quick Update!

We are currently QA testing the version 2.0.0., which will have fixes for some of the issues with WordPress attachment images as well as improved usability for uploading and using images from the media library.

This update will also feature jquery ui sortable to make available sorting/removing images from the slider set easy.

Estimated launch date is December 20th, 2015 based on Pacific Standard Time.

Hi devcon1 nice plugin but after update 2.0.0 I’m having issues trying uploading the images, when you click the button over and over “Add images” it won’t do anything, I tried with Latest WordPress Version using Chrome and Firefox with same behaviour, any comments? Thanks!

May I ask you to send us a link to your website?

It seems like it is the jquery dependency issue with the upload button, which may conflict with other plugin(s) you might have installed.

If you can send us URL to your website, we might get a better idea.

However, we will look into this bug and keep you posted.

Hi Devcon1 thanks for your quick reply, please see the website https://www.lanatophotography.com I’m using a full screen background slider only in the homepage but after uptade to 2.0.0 the images just disapeared and I can’t upload new one, let me know if you need anything else thanks!

I looked into your website and installed all the plugins you are loading, but there was no issue.
(This is on latest version everything.)

There could have been a glitch as the 2.0.0 runs an auto updater for previous version gallery to work with the new one.

However, it is possible that the updater didn’t run for some reasons and I would have to apologize if this is the case.

May I ask you to uninstall the Background Slider Master and reinstall it?

If it still doesn’t do it, you might want to disable other plugins and see if Background Slider Master works. After it is confirmed working, you can re activate all other plugins.

Please let me know if this doesn’t work either.

Hi buddy, yes as you said I updated from previous version and there must be a bug, I also uninstalled and reinstalled again but when I tried to activated gave me this error:

code Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/content/13/11211913/html/lanato/wp-content/plugins/background-slider-master/includes/class-background-slider-master-activator.php on line 49 code

So I downloaded that file and commented this: //$bsm_arr = []; on line 49 and that’s it, worked now I can upload images, delete and organize them and my site is working again with full background slider, don’t know what happen with this Array but without it works hehe.

BTW, nice job with the new images interface is GREAT! lml

I am glad to hear that you found the fix.

The activator contains a function to upgrade the older version gallery to work with the newer version.

$bsm_arr = []; is basically declaring the variable $bsm_arr as an empty array, but I used the shorthand [] instead of array(), which is supported post PHP 5.4.

I’ll get this fixed for older version of php support with the next minor update.
