trouble uploading files (pics or media

I get this message when I try to upload any picture to WordPress.
I’m running two wordpress blogs and have this same problem with both.
It’s been only a few days since I’ve installed 3.2.1 for the first time.

“Unable to create directory /www/______/t/h/r/threeangels/htdocs/wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

Have been going through wordpress forum and have been googling around to find a solution. I’ve tried all the solutions out there that have been suggested and it’s still not working. What’s the matter?
