Trouble uploading images into posts

  • Hi,

    Trying to upload images for the first time into posts using the Add an Image button, but it’s not working.

    When I upload it from my computer, it says it’s 100% done, but then no preview appears on the screen. When I insert it into the post the outline of the image is there, but no image exists. Likewise, when I post, no image is there.

    I use a woothemes theme and that has it’s own custom uploader, but when I use that, like the wp one, it shows the name of the image in the post but nothing else.

    Because I can’t even see a preview, I thought it may be to do with permissions (as I read this on the codex). Without really knowing what I was doing have changed loads of files to 0666 permission, but this does not change anything.

    Can anyone help?

  • Are you sure that you are uploading images for web in RGB format?

    Yeah, tried jpg, png and gif

    Thanks for the link above. My problem was not solved by what was listed in there but it did lead me on to find the issue. wp was uploading my images not into an uploads folder within wp-content, but straight in to the wp-content folder. Therefore wp just couldn’t see the images. No idea why it was doing that, but just was. Overridden that now though.
