Trouble using Media Library and Visual Editor

  • We work from two computers, both MACs – on one of them it happens sometimes that when we try to get a photo from the Media Library, or even try to work using the Visual Editor it just does not respond. We can see all the icons but when we click on it nothing happens. Working with HTML editor does not seem to be a problem. It is happening on different sites that use WordPress version 3.3.1. On the other computer this is not a problem at all. Can anyone help us figure out the problem?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
