Trouble verifying site in Site Kit

From reviewing your comments, I suspect your site may be impacted by a wp-admin URL change (possibly with your previous custom wp-admin path) before it was modified without having reset Site Kit first, leaving some invalid callback URLs associated with your site. To troubleshoot this further and ensure you can complete set up, please share the following:

1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??I can see your recording where you shared your Site Health status, and what we need to see if your full Site Health information.
2. What is the URL you land back on when attempting setup, and your previous wp-admin path? I ask as this may contain a no longer valid callback URL, based on your previous site.?
3. Are you able to temporarily switch to the previous setup when you had Site Kit successfully connected? I ask because if so, you may be able to complete set up from here, before then resetting and changing the wp-admin path as you prefer. This will reset the records on the Site Kit service when you are connected.

The likely issue you’re facing at present is that your site isn’t connected, and the records on the service exist for your site, but without a correct wp-admin path/callback URL. Once we have the information above we can hopefully assist further and ensure you can get connected. Thank you.

Hello James, how are you? Thank you for your quick reply.

1. I have submitted the information in the Google form and I will also include it here.
2. I don’t remember the previous admin URL, as it stopped working at the time and we soon deleted the plugin to revert it. It allowed changing the wp-admin slug and adding a layer of password protection. Unfortunately, I don’t remember exactly what URL we were using.
3. I can’t, because I don’t remember what the admin URL was.

I would like to add that I have already completely reinstalled WordPress from scratch, downloading a new copy from www.ads-software.com and installing it manually via FTP. I also removed all old WordPress files and deleted the old database before reinstalling.

Even with the complete reinstall, the issue persisted. Is there any other alternative to solve this issue, such as resetting the Site Kit settings on my site or on the server?

Thanks for the additional information @ligiaalves. Reinstalling WordPress won’t address any issue should there be invalid records, on the Site Kit service, such as your previous wp-admin path or callback URL. There are a couple of checks you can perform in order to connect, and if these fail I can request an update of your site records. See below:

1. You can attempt Site Kit set up once more. After you land back on your homepage with an error message, check the URL you land on, as it may contain a reference to your old wp-admin path. If so, you can correct it and then proceed.
2. You can change your site title (Settings > General). This will request Site Kit updates your records. This will only work if your site was not reset. You can add an additional space or character to your site title rather than an overall change. After doing so please attempt Site Kit set up once more.
3. You can change your site URLs by adding a www path to both references in your general settings (Settings > General). Change both your “Site URL” and WordPress address URLs to https://www.silhouettando.com.br (with the www). After doing so please attempt Site Kit set up once more.

Let me know how you get on with the above. If the same occurs, I will go ahead and request an update of your site records on the service. This may take a couple of days but it will ensure you can complete set up without having to add a www prefix. Thank you.

Just a quick update, I reviewed the recording you kindly shared and there is no callback URL evident when you land back on your homepage. For that reason you won’t be able to perform check one above by modifying this URL.

Adding “www” to both my Site URL and WordPress address in the General settings solved the issue, and I was finally able to connect Site Kit successfully.
