    Hi!

It took me a while to figure out the source of this problem because complaints were sporadic, but I finally realized that for all customers who have the Firefox tracking protection permanently activated (default is only in private windows) the “add to cart” button for gift cards stop working. I’m able to reproduce this in my own up-to-date Firefox installation on Windwows 7.

This doesn’t happen with other products, including products with variations therefore I can only conclude that there is something unique about the gift card ‘add to cart’ button that badly interacts with Firefox’ tracking protection.

Any idea on why this is and how to fix it?

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the plugin. This is the first report of the issue so we are going to attempt to reproduce the problem using the steps you described. We’ll find out what we need to do to make this work with Firefox’s tracking protection enabled and will issue an update as soon as we have a solution. Thanks for your patience!

No trouble at all, it’s such a weird and random problem it was pure dumb luck I even figured out why it happened at all. Thanks for looking into it!

Sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase! I think I was on the wrong track altogether. That I activated Firefox track protection when the add to cart button stopped workig looks like it was pure coincident because right now I can’t add a gift card to the cart on any browser with any settings and neither can anyone else.

The problems some few people with firefox had for the last months seems to be an entirely separate one and probably down to individual settings or an add-on that is interfering.

The problem now seems to be, the add to cart button doesn’t work for gift cards at all and I have now noticed that the field for email, name etc. has vanished as well. I will send you a link to our website as an email. If you could take a look I would be very grateful.

Marking this resolved. We recently fixed a bug that was causing the issue that you see. However, it requires re-creating the gift card product in order to fix the issue:

    1. Click on Products and locate the existing Gift Card product. Click on Trash to delete it.
    2. Click on Pimwick Plugins -> PW Gift Cards and then click on “Create Gift Card Product”.
    3. Return to the Products area and select the Gift Card product.
    4. First, verify that the product is working correctly. If it is, finish any customizations that you have such as image and amounts.
