I like this plugin very much, but now have trouble getting one word hyphenated: Patientenfürsprecher. I even added where I wanted the hyphen, but this worked only after disabling wp-typography.
I also tested it by adding Patienten-fürsprecher to the exceptions, but without success.
I’m at my wits end; please help.

    Hi @spade!
You have almost certainly activated “Prevent widows” (“Hurenkinder verhindern” in German), so the hyphens get stripped from the last word in a “paragraph” (any block element actually).

    Bingo, that helped, thanks.
Wouldn’t it be possible to have “Prevent widows” on and disable it programmatically for title tags?

I’ll see if I can add a filter hook to adjust the settings for titles specifically (but you’d still need to add your own filter to adjust the settings object for these calls). All in all, it’s the way dewidowing works in an HTML context. You can finetune how aggressive it is, however.

    Thank you Pepe.
It should/could have helped too, if exeptions had a higher priority.

Yeah, that’s simply not possible, as they are processed by different “fixes”, and there is a defined order in which they are applied.
