Trouble with posts lenght

does the front page template (index.php?) use ‘the_excerpt();’ in the loop?

I’m not technical at all but here is my index php

You tell me:

your index.php contains ‘the_content();’ and will therefore show the full post, unless you use the ‘more-tag’ while writing or eding your post.

you have two choices:
– use the ‘more-tag’ in your post where you want to end the part to show on the front page;
– change the code in index.php from ‘the_content();’ to ‘the_excerpt();’
